Short films to check out

As I’ve mentioned in my older entry, I’ve been enjoying short films, and today I thought I’d share these two with you, because I really love these amazing shorts.

War, fate, and a broken walkman transcend space and time in this sci-fi love story.

A Collaboration Factory Production

A beautiful time travel story. It was very moving, effectively told, and left me cringing at some parts. By the end of it, I was tearing up a little. Excellent production, nice sound, great shots, and certainly liking the original idea of this short.

Codename:Simon

Codename:Simon from Graham Tallman on Vimeo.

Simon is an undercover space agent whose new mission finds him on Earth awaiting pick-up by his parents’ spaceship.
Premiered at AFI Fest. Played over 50 festivals worldwide. Won Angeles Award for Production Design, Won Worldfest Houston Special Jury Prize.
Quotes: ‘..as simple as it is profound.’ Short of the Week

I love this short! Told from Simon’s point of view, and I couldn’t help but to sympathize and feel for the character. I thought of it as an escape strategy, or how the mind of a child worked to handle this kind of situation. Watching this made me feel lonely with the character. It certainly had some heartbreaking moments.
